It’s day 4 of #YouCanCare week. Today at CCL, we are celebrating David Whitaker, Registered Manager.

Pictured we have David with Carl at a bike show. Dave is the Registered Manager for CCL’s Torrin Drive scheme. Dave started at CCL 12 years ago and has progressed significantly in that time, fulfilling various roles, including Support Worker, Deputy Manager and Registered Manager. Prior to working in the care sector, Dave worked in print – printing design work, brochures, banners, etc. Dave was made redundant from his job, so he thought he would give caring a go as he had a friend who worked at CCL. Dave interviewed for a Support Worker role at CCL and was successful. When Dave started at CCL he thought “why have I not done this before, I love it!”. Dave was eventually offered his old job back in printing but stayed as a Bank Support Worker at CCL. However, Dave knew his heart was with CCL and as soon as there was another full-time position available, he went for it and hasn’t looked back since!
When asking Dave what he likes about his role at CCL he said “I come home and feel like I’ve actually made someone happy. I love taking the guys on holidays and have taken them to France five times! I feel like I’ve actually made a difference to someone’s life, and every day is different.”. Dave also added “CCL do a fantastic job, it’s just second to none, and it’s been mentioned by parent several times!”.
