Today at the Grafton Centre, we took part in Safer Internet Day. This year’s theme once again was “Together for a better internet”, the day calls upon all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, and especially for children and young people.
To take part, students video called each other in different classrooms to show how easy it was to contact someone via the internet. Lauren, Personal Tutor, demonstrated the signs for ‘Internet Safety’ and all students signed them perfectly. Following this, Purple group made their way around college on a hunt to find various questions surrounding the internet. These questions included topics regarding sharing personal information online, such as ‘Is it safe to give my phone number or address to someone online?’. Once they had found the questions, Lauren then lead a class discussion asking student’s their opinions.
To top the day off, they all received a certificate for completing Safer Internet Day 2022.
