Last week Mayfield House were fortunate enough to be offered free activity-based items by Oxon Parish Church, including books, DVDs, a bird feeding station, crayons and so on.

On hearing activity budgets have been cut for people with learning disabilities or those suffering with mental health issues, Reverend Charlotte Gompertz of Oxon Parish Church wanted to help. Subsequently, using the power of Facebook, Reverend Charlotte Gompertz created an appeal for donations of activity-based equipment, such as games and books. Oxon Parish Church were extremely pleased with the response, receiving numerous donations.

In addition to the donations, Oxon Parish Church received a significant contribution from Pontesbury Project, which they were able to use to purchase some brand-new equipment. Once the donations were gratefully received, Reverend Charlotte Gompertz distributed the equipment to local care homes and those in need.

On speaking to Reverend Charlotte Gompertz she said “Thank you to everyone who donated. It’s been lovely to get to know everyone in the community. We look forward to our next project and continuing to support people in our community”.

Mayfield House and CCL are extremely grateful for our items and think Reverend Charlotte Gompertz and her team are doing excellent work. A huge thank you from CCL!
