This week is #NationalCareersWeek. National Careers Week is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. To take part we will be profiling some of our wonderful CCL members who are either studying while working or who have made a career change.
Today, we are celebrating Ellie Reece, our Administration Apprentice.
Ellie joined CCL in June 2020 and is currently studying a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. When Ellie was younger, she wanted to be a nurse, but changed her mind when she was 16 and aspired to work in an office. Immediately prior to starting at CCL, Ellie studied Business and Health & Social Care at College. On completing college, Ellie wanted to continue studying and somehow combine business and health & social care, so when she saw the apprenticeship advert for CCL, she knew it would be ideal for her.
When speaking to Ellie about her Administration Apprenticeship role at CCL, she reiterated how beneficial it was to study whilst working, stating how working provides her with enhanced knowledge that she can apply to her course. She also expressed how she believes experience is just as important, if not more so, than a qualification – in this scenario, she believes she has the best of both worlds!
On asking Ellie to sum up what she likes about her role at CCL and course combined, she said: “Working in any type of care environment is rewarding and gives you a sense of achievement. Working and studying means I can gain experience, which helps me to have a better understanding of my modules and means I can apply my experience to the course”.
Ellie’s future aspirations are to achieve Level 4 Business Administration and she would like to progress within CCL’s HR department.
Ellie is a fantastic team member at CCL, and we are so pleased she can achieve her qualifications whilst gaining experience with us! A huge thank you to Ellie!
