Condover College was established in 2004 by Steve McGill, a father who wanted only the best care for his son, Matthew. Steve had struggled to find a college that catered for Matthew’s disabilities. He knew there was only one thing for it: he’d have to start a college himself.

Starting with just 9 learners, CCL has grown significantly and now supports around 150 learners. We currently have 14 residential houses in the community and deliver an outstanding educational provision. With a new building planned for Day Opportunities, CCL is poised for further growth with our vision remaining unchanged: to provide outstanding care and support for young adults with disabilities, giving them life-changing opportunities.

Over the years, we have won national and regional awards, a testament to the quality of our service and we aim to continue winning more in the future. These include winning one national GBCA Award and two Social Star Awards, with numerous nominations reaching the finals of the Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards and many reaching the regional finals of the GBCA.

Vikki Pryce expressed her pride in CCL’s historical moment, stating, “I am proud of how far we have come in the last 20 years. Making such a positive impact on the lives of so many is amazing. Thank you to the parents for their continuous support and the outstanding staff who contribute to CCL’s success”.
