This year’s CCL Masquerade Charity Ball, was held at the Albright Hussey Manor Hotel in Shrewsbury. It was a fantastic opportunity to get dressed up, catch up with friends and enjoy delicious food, whilst raising money for the CCL Hydrotherapy Pool.
Hydrotherapy is a very important and therapeutic intervention for the young people we support, especially for those with multiple disabilities who spend much of their day in a wheelchair. For some learners, it is their only experience of completely free movement, with the warm water assisting in muscle relaxation and joint movement. The water can be used to strengthen even the weakest muscles. Additionally, the buoyancy of the water provides learners who cannot bear their own weight on dry land, the experience of the upright position.
The theme for this year’s CCL Charity Ball was Masquerade, with everyone adding some fantastic masks to complement their outfits on the night. The event attracted people from across Shropshire and beyond, to raise money for the CCL Hydrotherapy Pool.
Guests enjoyed a fabulous 3-course meal and listened to popular music from The Vertigo Band. The CCL raffle and auction provided an entertaining highlight of the night, with a variety of prizes on offer including; a hot air balloon ride, Opera House tickets, weekend trips, hampers and chickens to name a few!
The event raised an impressive £5830 which will be added to the CCL Hydrotherapy Pool donations. A huge thank you to everyone that supported the event, we look forward to notifying you of the plans soon!
