CCL’s Speech and Language Assistant Nicky hosts a monthly Makaton Club session, with this months theme being Chinese New Year
Learners from across CCL are invited to the monthly Makaton club to learn and practice Makaton signs.
This month learners practiced signs for Dragon, Fireworks and Chinese New Year to name a few!
Everyone then had the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes including prawn crackers, spring rolls, fortune cookies and noodles to see what they liked and what they didn’t. The most popular dish were the prawn crackers!
Learners were supported to find their Chinese birth sign and used bright colours to decorate their individual animals.
There was just enough time for a sensory story which finished with everyone setting off party poppers at the end of the session to celebrate Chinese New Year.
