This years CCL Staff Annual Conference was held at The Albright Hussey, Shrewsbury and provides staff the opportunity to listen to some inspiring speakers and participate in a variety of engaging activities.
The CCL Staff Annual Conference is a two day event, which started on the Friday and focused on Communication Awareness. In the morning we welcomed Gina Davies, who provided a fascinating insight into developing attention and listening skills through the use of highly motivating activities.
During the afternoon our very own Speech and Language Therapy Team discussed methods of communication including picture support and intensive interaction. Everyone enjoyed the interactive sessions, with a favourite being the Makaton Bingo!
On Monday we welcomed Karen Field, CCL’s Lead Physiotherapist. The session focused on staff and their health and well-being, with thought-provoking discussions and activities. The day also provided the opportunity to celebrate staff achievements.
Congratulations to Jon Byrnes, Angie Beirnes and Clive Thompson on receiving their 10 Year Service Awards. A huge well done to Kim Cummings, Laura Conway, Terri Draycott, Debbie Brunt and Mike Connor who were finalists for the prestigious Steve McGill Award. The winner of this years Steve McGill Award was Lauren Kent, well done everyone!
