Bethan, a resident at CCL recently received her new eye gaze communication aid, which she was very excited about! Today, Bethan, her dad and 6 members of her support team were provided training on how to use the eye gaze device from Smartbox. They all had a wonderful time – particularly Bethan. Our Speech & Language team will now begin implementing the device in Bethan’s everyday life and carry out a block of therapy. A huge thank you to Smartbox for their excellent assistance and training.
Jade, our Specialist Speech & Language Therapist was overwhelmed with how well the session went today, “This expressive communication device will give us an insight into Bethan’s world and let those around her know what she wants and needs. It has the potential to transform her ability to communicate with others and maximise her communicative intent”.
