CCL’s Church View Scheme spent the afternoon at the Church Stretton Fire Station, where residents had a great time exploring the fire engines and the station.
The Church Stretton Fire and Rescue Service is operated by a watch manager, crew managers and firefighters, who are on call and respond to the station from their home address or their place of work.
CCL’s Church View Scheme were invited to the station to meet the firefighters and to try out some of the equipment they use, a favourite being the fire hose! Residents were offered the opportunity to use the hose, sit in the fire engines and try on the helmets. The firefighters were fantastic at explaining what the equipment was used for and gave everyone a tour of the station.
The residents had a great time, Hannah said “My favourite part was seeing the fire trucks” and Kim said “I really enjoyed the hose”.
Thank you to the Church Stretton Fire and Rescue Service for such a fantastic afternoon!
